Injury Prevention - Ergonomic Training

Our interactive workshops answer the “WHY” when educating employees on injury prevention concepts covering poor posture habits and how they influence cumulative trauma, appropriate micro breaking for their tasks and body mechanics.
Our workshops are customized for your specific industry and the needs of your company and are appropriate for any workforce environment.

Your employees will take away tools to prevent muscle fatigue and stress related to their work tasks and habits. The 50-minute workshops may require a site visit for enhanced customization (included), to assess physical and postural demands; handout material is included. Popular workshops are Safe Lifting and Office Worker Survival.

The cost for these services are billed at a project rate plus expenses.

Worker Stretch Program

Designing a recovery stretch routine should be specific to the job tasks and appropriate for the workforce age and work demands. We implement a customizable model for recovery stretch programs that has a proven track record for efficiency and effectiveness. Implementation of a program should not be a ‘one size fits all’.

The process includes collecting injury historical data, site visit (if local), discomfort survey, prior to development of your program. Implementation includes 30-40 minute leader training workshop(s) and 60 minute employee kick-off training workshop(s) with interactive participation and material for individuals and posting.

Once training is complete, it’s important to establish routine use as Impact Ergonomics will provide follow up support. Employee group stretch programs benefit all industries but can be especially beneficial for job tasks that have combinations of OSHA identified risk factors.

Ergonomic Risk Evaluation

Ergonomic mitigation often requires an ‘outside expert’ to facilitate change with in your workforce or perhaps you need an objective measurement to validate potential risk.

Our comprehensive ergonomic risk analysis (ERA) provides you with objective data to show level of risk based related to work tasks. Using data collected through survey, observation and injury data, the tasks are analyzed using assessment tools and provide a basis for potential solutions such as redesign, worker habit training, or administrative abatements.

A full report is provided with findings and potential solutions to reduce or prevent MSD injuries. Work tasks commonly assessed are manual material handling (lift, push, pull), repetitive hand intensive tasks, and healthcare services. Impact Ergonomics performs all phases of this process which requires acquiring the preliminary information and site observation/video taping to be utilized for analysis purposes.

Office Ergonomic Evaluations

There is no substitute for having a professional come onsite and engage with your staff, assessing work habits and providing individual advice. Our evaluations look beyond ergonomics and include employee posture correction, how to properly set up your chair and workstation to reduce stress and strain, and worker habit training.

Site evaluations are charged per evaluation and up to 1-hour is allotted which include a report outlining the ergonomic adjustments implemented, worker training provided and if needed, office equipment recommendations. The reports are provided to a designated person of your organization.

Office evaluations are appropriate for individuals that are having discomfort at their workstation or have returned to work following an injury.

Ergonomic Screening (Office or Industrial)

Prevention is the best medicine and  often times just understanding how to best adjust your chair or making a few adjustments are needed to prevent any issues emerge. Office workers who are low risk or new hires are good candidates for our concise yet economical ergonomic screen. Office screens are ideal to use with group training workshops and are provided for groups of three individuals or more.

Each employee is individually screened at their workstation and given appropriate chair and workstation adjustments, provided with office specific micro-break stretches and a checklist for self-assessment.

Impact Ergonomics also provides onsite consultations for industrial ergonomic screens to identify quick fixes. This service does not include a formal analysis report (see our ergonomic risk assessment) and is a collaboration with your existing safety or ergonomic team. Although consultations are less formal than the ERA, they can used to support your case for abatements.
